Hand Spliced Wire Rope Sling with Two Eyes
Gostern Hand Spliced Wire Rope Sling with Two Eyes is manufactured using traditional hand tucking (hand splicing) techniques, creating strong, reliable eyes on both ends without the need for mechanical swaging equipment . Each sling is crafted by experienced splicers who interweave the wire rope strands back into the body using the Flemish eye (long splice) method, creating secure, permanent eyes that maintain the rope's natural flexibility . Available with soft eyes (no thimbles) for delicate surface protection or thimble eyes (with drop forged steel thimbles) for wear-resistant connections in harsh environments .
This Double Eye Hand Spliced Sling features a smooth, tapered transition from each eye to the rope body, reducing stress concentration and providing excellent fatigue resistance . The hand splicing process preserves the original flexibility of the wire rope, allowing the sling to bend easily around loads and sheaves . The eyes can be sized to fit specific hooks, shackles, or other lifting hardware, providing a customized fit for your application . It is widely used as Hand Spliced Wire Rope Sling with Two Eyes in shipyards and marine construction, as Flemish Eye Wire Rope Sling for general industrial lifting, as Hand Tucked Cable Sling with Eyes for rigging and hoisting, and as Double Eye Hand Spliced Sling for towing and recovery operations . Available in wire rope diameters from 6mm to 32mm , with standard lengths from 1m to 20m (custom lengths available) , and working load limits (WLL) ranging from 560 kg to 9,500 kg depending on rope diameter and configuration .
Eye Type Options:
Soft Eyes (No Thimbles) : Flexible, non-marring, compact – ideal for delicate surfaces and tight spaces
Thimble Eyes (With Thimbles) : Wear-resistant, rigid, durable – ideal for frequent connection/disconnection
Mixed (One Soft, One Thimble) : Combines benefits of both types
Hand Splicing Advantages:
Preserves rope flexibility: No rigid ferrule, bends easily
Smooth transition: Tapered profile reduces stress points
No metal fittings: Soft eyes won't damage loads
Field repairable: Can be re-spliced if damaged
Traditional craftsmanship: Proven reliability for decades
Available Configurations:
Soft Eye - Soft Eye: For delicate surface protection
Thimble Eye - Thimble Eye: For wear-resistant connections
Soft Eye - Thimble Eye: Mixed configuration
Soft Eye - Raw End: One eye, one open end
Endless (Grommet) : Continuous loop - no ends
Common Applications:
Shipbuilding and shipyard lifting
Marine construction and dockside operations
General industrial lifting and rigging
Towing and recovery operations
Construction material handling
Manufacturing assembly lines
Warehouse and logistics
Agricultural equipment rigging
Important Usage Guidelines:
Inspect both spliced eyes for loose strands, wear, or damage before each use
For thimble eyes, check thimbles for cracks, deformation, or wear
For soft eyes, check for fraying, kinking, or wire protrusion
Do not use if splice shows signs of pulling out or loosening
Do not exceed rated working load limits
Protect wire rope from sharp edges using edge protectors
Regular inspection per ASME B30.9 standards
Replace sling if wire rope shows broken wires, kinking, or corrosion
We support Custom Length Hand Spliced Sling, OEM, ODM and various eye type configurations to meet different lifting requirements.

Attentions
1. Users should be familiar with the performance, usage precautions, and scrap standards of various types of wire rope slings and their end accessories.
2. The selected wire rope sling should be adapted to the appearance characteristics and specific requirements of the workpiece to be lifted. It must not be used unless the conditions for use are met.
3. Before operation, the wire rope rigging and its accessories should be inspected and confirmed to be in good condition before use.
4. Before hanging, the rope point should be selected correctly; before lifting, make sure the binding is firm.
5. Spreaders and accessories must not exceed their rated lifting capacity, and slings must not exceed their maximum working load in the corresponding hanging state.
6. During operation, damage to the wire rope rigging and accessories should be prevented. If necessary, corner guards should be added to the edges and corners.
7. Steel wire rope slings should be inspected regularly during their use period. If conditions permit, flaw detection inspections should be carried out on spreaders and end accessories of large-tonnage and important products.
