Gostern Galvanized Single Leg Pressed Wire Rope Sling is the most common and versatile type of wire rope sling, designed for vertical lifting applications where a single attachment point is required. This sling features a galvanized steel wire rope body with pressed (swaged) aluminum ferrule terminations on both ends, creating strong, compact, and permanent eyes for connection to hooks, shackles, or other lifting hardware . The hot dip galvanized finish provides superior corrosion resistance, making these slings ideal for outdoor, marine, and harsh environment applications where standard uncoated slings would rust . Available with thimble eyes for wear resistance or soft eyes for surface protection .

This Pressed Single Leg Galvanized Sling is manufactured from high quality 6×37 or 6×19 galvanized wire rope , providing an excellent balance of flexibility and strength for general purpose lifting. The pressed (swaged) termination offers a compact, smooth profile with 90-95% of the wire rope's breaking strength , significantly stronger than hand-spliced or wire rope clip terminations . The hot dip galvanized coating provides excellent rust protection and is applied after fabrication to ensure complete coverage of the termination area . Important Usage Guidelines:

• Inspect sling before each use for wear, broken wires, or damage

• Check galvanized coating for damage, rust, or flaking

• For thimble eyes, check thimbles for cracks, deformation, or wear

• For soft eyes, check for fraying, kinking, or wire protrusion

• Do not exceed rated working load limits

• For single leg, vertical lift only – do not use at an angle

• Protect wire rope from sharp edges using edge protectors

• Regular inspection per ASME B30.9 standards

• Replace sling if wire rope shows broken wires, kinking, or severe corrosion

• Store in dry, clean area when not in use
