Us Carbon Steel Wire Rope Clamp
Gostern US Type Carbon Steel Wire Rope Clamp is a rugged U-bolt cable clamp designed for secure termination of wire rope ends, forming load-bearing eyes, and connecting two cable ends with a lap splice. This drop forged carbon steel construction provides superior strength compared to malleable iron clips, making it suitable for critical, heavy-duty applications such as winch lines, crane hoist lines, support lines, guy lines, and towing lines. Manufactured in compliance with Federal Specification FF-C-450 Type 1, Class 1 and ASME B30.26 standards-. Available in hot dip galvanized finish per ASTM A153 for excellent corrosion resistance. Sizes from 1/8" to 3-1/2" wire rope diameter. Includes forged saddle base, U-bolt, and heavy hex nuts with UNC-2A threads.
When installed correctly, these clips provide 80-90% efficiency of the wire rope's breaking strength. Forged steel clips (unlike malleable iron) have a consistent grain structure for superior ductility and are required for overhead and critical lifting applications. Sizes 1/4" and above are marked with USA and date code for traceability. Widely used as Heavy Duty Forged Wire Rope Clip in construction, as Galvanized Cable Clamp for marine and outdoor rigging, as ASME B30.26 Wire Rope Clip for safety-critical applications, and as Rigging Hardware Cable Clip for general industrial use.
