G414 Wire Rope Thimble
Gostern G414 Wire Rope Thimble is an extra heavy-duty protective fitting designed to prevent wear and deformation of wire rope eyes in slings and rigging assemblies. Manufactured in compliance with Federal Specification FF-T-276b Type III and EN 13411-1:2002 standards, this thimble is inserted into the wire rope eye to provide a solid, protective element that distributes the load evenly and prevents crushing Available in hot dip galvanized carbon steel for general corrosion resistance or AISI 304 stainless steel for more corrosive environments .
The G414 series features a split oval design with a thicker material construction compared to standard thimbles, offering greater load-bearing capacity and longer service life. The thimble protects the wire rope from abrasion against shackles, hooks, and other hardware, maintaining the structural integrity of the rope eye and extending the overall service life of the sling . Widely used in wire rope sling assemblies, marine mooring, aquaculture, lifting, and general industrial rigging. Available in sizes from 1/4" to 2-1/4" wire rope diameter, with dimensions precisely matching the rope diameter for optimal fit.
