Open Swage Socket For Wire Rope Sling
Gostern Open Swage Socket for Wire Rope Sling is a high-strength, permanent termination fitting designed for critical lifting and rigging applications. The forged steel socket is cold-formed (swaged) onto the wire rope using hydraulic equipment, creating a permanent termination that develops up to 100% of the wire rope's breaking strength. Manufactured in compliance with ASME B30.9 and EN 13411-8 standards. Available in open socket (fork) or closed socket (bow) configurations. Recommended for use with 6×19 or 6×37 IWRC wire rope. Sizes from 6mm to 32mm. Widely used for crane pendants, bridge cables, mooring systems, and heavy-duty lifting slings. Proof load testing required per ASME B30.9.
Important Note: Swage sockets must be installed using proper hydraulic equipment and dies. All assemblies shall be proof loaded before use. Not recommended for fiber core wire rope.
