6x19+FC 6x19+IWS 6x19+IWR Round Strand Steel Cable Wire Rope
Gostern 6×19 Steel Wire Rope is manufactured from high quality carbon steel with excellent tensile strength, superior flexibility and outstanding fatigue resistance. This rope features 6 strands of 19 wires each (6×19) , available in three core configurations: FC (Fiber Core) for maximum flexibility and shock absorption, IWS (Independent Wire Strand) core for enhanced strength and crushing resistance, and IWR (Independent Wire Rope) core for maximum strength and stability . The 6×19 construction is the most widely used general purpose wire rope, offering an excellent balance of strength, flexibility, and wear resistance . Available in galvanized (zinc coated for corrosion resistance) or ungalvanized (bright) finish .
This General Purpose Lifting Rope is available in several strand constructions:
6×19S (Seale) : Outer wires thick, inner wires thinner – excellent abrasion resistance, ideal for dragging over sheaves
6×19W (Warrington) : Alternating thick and thin outer wires – superior flexibility, ideal for multi-layer spooling
6×25Fi (Filler Wire) : Small filler wires between main wires – good balance of strength and flexibility
It is widely used as Extra Flexible Hoist Cable for overhead cranes and hoists, as Crane Wire Rope for mobile cranes and tower cranes, as Mining Hoist Rope for mine hoisting, and as High Tensile Steel Cable for general industrial lifting . Available in diameters from 3mm to 60mm , with Grade 1570 MPa to 1960 MPa tensile strength options . The 6×19 construction offers approximately 15-25% higher breaking load than 6×37 ropes of the same diameter, with better abrasion resistance due to thicker outer wires .
Core Selection Guide:
FC Core: Best flexibility, shock absorption – ideal for single layer spooling
IWS Core: Moderate flexibility, good crush resistance – ideal for general purpose
IWR Core: Maximum strength, excellent crush resistance – ideal for multi-layer spooling
Important Note: Do not exceed recommended working load limits. Regular inspection for wear, broken wires, and diameter reduction is required.
We support Custom Length Steel Cable, OEM, ODM and custom drum winding services.
