Gostern 6×49SWS Large Diameter Steel Wire Rope is manufactured from premium high carbon steel with ultra-high tensile strength, exceptional wear resistance and superior fatigue life. This rope features 6 strands of 49 wires each in a sophisticated triple-layer SWS (Seale-Warrington-Seale) construction – combining Seale, Warrington, and Seale wire arrangements for optimal balance of strength, flexibility, and abrasion resistance. Available with FC (Fiber Core) for maximum flexibility or IWR (Independent Wire Rope) core for enhanced crushing resistance. Designed for extra heavy duty operations requiring maximum breaking load and extended service life. The dense strand design provides excellent strength-to-diameter ratio, ideal for limited-space applications. Available in large diameters from 20mm to 60mm (and larger upon request) with Grade 1770-1960 MPa ultra-high tensile strength. Widely used for deep shaft mine hoisting, dragline excavators, offshore mooring, deepwater towing, and heavy-duty material handling.

Available with FC (Fiber Core) for maximum flexibility and shock absorption or IWR (Independent Wire Rope) core for increased strength, crushing resistance and stability in multi-layer spooling . Designed for extra heavy duty operations requiring maximum breaking load and extended service life.

This 6×49SWS Extra Heavy Duty Rope features a dense triple-layer strand design with optimized wire diameters for superior strength, flexibility, and abrasion resistance . The SWS construction provides an excellent strength-to-diameter ratio, making it ideal for applications where high breaking load is required within limited space . It is widely used as Mining Hoist Wire Rope for deep shaft mine hoisting, as Dragline Excavator Cable for large stripping shovels and draglines, as High Breaking Load Cable for offshore mooring and deepwater towing, and as Wear Resistant Mining Rope for heavy-duty material handling . Available in large diameters from 20mm up to 60mm (and larger upon request) , with Grade 1770 MPa, 1870 MPa, or 1960 MPa ultra-high tensile strength options . The 6×49SWS construction typically achieves 35-45% higher breaking load than standard 6×19 ropes of the same diameter, while offering excellent flexibility and fatigue resistance.

Rotation characteristics: The 6×49SWS construction offers low rotation properties with rotation coefficient typically ≤ 1/100 of rope diameter per meter of rope travel.

Important Note: Do not exceed recommended working load limits. Due to large diameter and heavy weight, professional handling equipment and experienced riggers are required for installation. Regular inspection for wear, broken wires, and diameter reduction is mandatory.
